Custom Cabinet Design, Built-ins & Libraries

Built-in cabinetry is architecture at furniture scale, and it is most of what the Oakdale shop does. Chris measures the room, draws elevations, builds the cabinets as finished furniture in the shop, and installs them scribed to the walls and ceiling so they read as part of the house.

The work in the portfolio includes a cherry library and study with a concealed television, painted wardrobe walls with drawers below, a dark-stained bathroom vanity and linen tower, bookcases in almost every room of a house, and the closets, window seats and mudroom benches that make old houses work for modern families.

Whether the cabinet design is traditional inset, flush modern or something in between, the construction is the same: solid wood face frames and doors, dovetailed drawers on quality slides, and finishes that will still look right in thirty years.
